CN Tower Climb and graduation!

In January, I posted my bucket list with the intention of blogging about completing those experiences. While I have completed some of the items on the list, I haven't been keeping up with blogging about the experiences.

That changes today. :)

Back in April, I participated in the CN Tower Climb for the World Wildlife Foundation. I climbed 1776 stairs in 31 minutes and 51 seconds! I was exhausted when I reached the top of the stairs, and took advantage of the view of the city while I rested before leaving the glass floor of the CN tower. I plan on participating again next year. Hopefully I will improve my time! :)

For five years, I worked towards earning my undergraduate degree. On April 2nd, 2012, I attended my last class of undergrad! On June 11th, 2012 I walked across the stage to receive my undergraduate degree. My parents came to Toronto to celebrate my accomplishment. It was a great day!

Fiona Apple!

I had the privilege of attending Fiona Apple's concert in Toronto. It was one of the best concert experiences.

First, I met with a friend of mine whom I hadn't seen in a couple of years. It was so great to see her and catch up with her before the show started.

The opening act was Blake Mills. He was fantastic! The song set he chose to sing was a little mellow for people to stop their conversations and listen to, but they were great songs nonetheless. They seemed like the kind of songs you'd want for a day of relaxation. Have a listen here: http://www.blakemillsonline.com/
The most memorable part of Blake Mills' set was his closing song, Sleepwalk. I love this song! Mills and the accompanying musicians played it beautifully!

While waiting for Fiona Apple to start her set, I was reminiscing about how I was first introduced to her music. I remember I was in my jazz dance class at Spotlight Dance Centre doing some stretches. A couple of Fiona Apple's songs came on, which at the time I didn't recognize. While doing these stretches, I began singing along and made a point of remembering some of the lyrics to help me find the artist and album. The two songs that were played that day were Fast As You Can and To Your Love. I've loved Fiona Apple's music since then!

Fast forward many years. I bought tickets to her Toronto show as soon as I could. I am so glad that I did. She sounds amazing live! It's so refreshing to go to a live concert and have the singer sound as good as they do on the record. It didn't even matter that I couldn't always see her on the stage from where I was standing, her presence and her talents filled the room.

It was a wonderful experience!

Tattoo!

It's been a month since I last posted here! Time sure does fly.

Here's what I've been doing since my last post:

I performed in a musical called The Drowsy Chaperone. I had such a blast with all of my castmates. Here are some behind the scenes pics!

Our poster!

Taking naps between shows

In one of the songs, a recipe is given for a toledo surprise. One of our cast members went home and figured out how to make the dessert!

It was delicious!

I saw In the Heights at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. It was amazing! I left the show feeling very inspired about a life in the performing arts.

One of the most exciting things I've done is get my first tattoo! I love it! :)

In Ontario, we have a holiday called Family Day. As my family lives in BC (where family day is not yet celebrated), I choose to have Friend Day! This year, we went to Smoke's Poutinerie for some delicious grub, then headed to my apartment for an ice cream potluck!

Eating delicious poutine!

All kinds of ice cream!
