Unrepentant Geraldines

This is 100% belated.

On August 8th, 2014 I attended Tori Amos' concert for her Unrepentant Geraldines Tour. I had been interested in seeing her perform live since reading Tori Amos Piece by Piece in 2006 or 2007.

The opening act was the acoustic duo Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou. My favorite song of theirs (that they performed) is For A Minute There. They presented their songs with honesty and sincerity. This husband and wife duo clearly have a charismatic connection with each other that is emulated to the very back of the concert venue. I was so intrigued by this duo that I bought their album La Ferme de Fontenaille immediately after their set!

Wow! Does Tori Amos ever put on a show! I am inspired by her ability to engage and entertain an audience with a grand piano, a keyboard, and herself. She commands the stage, and owns it for the duration of her set. It was truly an honour and privilege to be able to witness her talent live!

Here is the set list she posted on facebook:

My highlights from her performance include Building a Mystery/Free Fallin', Cornflake Girl, and Take to the Sky.

Until next time,

Spike and Mars bar

This post is all about crossing items off my bucket list! Woo hoo!

Early in February, I moved in with my boyfriend. After a month of co-habitation, things are going very well! There are a few boxes that have yet to be unpacked, but we are otherwise quite settled in the new space.

Moving in with my boyfriend also meant moving in with his cat, Spike. I already loved the cat, so I welcomed the addition. I wasn't sure what it would be like to have a pet, since the most I grew up with was fish. Even then, they were my dad's and he didn't get them till I was in my late teens! One of my sisters also had a pet fish when we were both in high school, but again, it wasn't mine.

Spike will be my first pet! In other words, I get to cross off having a pet on my bucket list.
:) He's a cute cuddly cat, and he's gonna be the best first pet ever! xo

A couple of days ago, Chris (my boyfriend) and I decided to scope out one of the bars in our new neighborhood. We decided on the Caledonian. As I had already eaten dinner, I decided I was going to have dessert. Lo and behold, they have deep fried mars bar on their menu! Naturally, I ordered it so I can cross off "eat a deep fried Mars bar" from my bucket list. :)

It was delicious! Not that I doubted it would be, because Mars bars are already good as is. I love caramel in chocolate. What makes a deep fried Mars bar stand out from non-deep fried Mars bar is the fact that the chocolate and caramel are warm, melted, gooey goodness! It was a great way to start getting familiar with the neighborhood.

Cheers,
